Born and raised on the Island of Jamaica, Sonia like many children on the island enjoyed a cup of tea daily. Sonia's love for tea was so much so that she had to have tea numerous times during the day, her favorite beverage was hot tea. She was nicknamed “Tea Bag” as a toddler because of her love for tea. Today she shares her love for tea with others at SIPS Eclectic Tea Parlour.
As a lifetime lover of tea, Sonia originally started "SIPS Eclectic Tea Parlour" in her kitchen with her best friend and Sonia's two children. She would serve tea and any type of sweets she had after dinner or whenever she had the urge. Eventually, she began introducing her fabulous tea parties to her friends, co-workers, community members and their children. This love of tea led Sonia to becoming super ecstatic that others were loving and enjoying her teas. She began intense research, shadowing tea artisans and tearoom owners, training and drinking many cups of teas. All those hours and various experiences have evolved into what is now SIPS Eclectic Tea Parlour.
